How team bonus points work
A two-balance model borrowed from the best peer-recognition programs, with one twist: points redeem for things people genuinely want.
- 1
Everyone gets a monthly allowance to give
Each teammate gets a set number of points to hand out every month. It resets, so the allowance is for recognizing others, not a balance to hoard. Giving stays generous because it costs the giver nothing but a moment.
- 2
Points ride on your company values
Every bit of recognition carries a #value and a note, so bonus points reinforce the behavior you actually want more of, not just a vague "thanks."
- 3
Earned points are theirs to keep
Points people receive land in a separate, permanent balance that never expires. No use-it-or-lose-it pressure on the rewards someone worked for.
- 4
Funded by your org, controlled by you
Set the monthly allowance and the program is billed on a simple recurring charge sized to your active headcount, so spend is predictable and you only pay for the team you have. See exactly where every point goes.
The payoff is in redemption: points go further than another gift card, or explore the full recognition and rewards platform.
One plan. Every feature.
Start free for up to 8 seats, or run a 30-day trial of the full plan at $4/seat/mo with every feature included and no upsell ladder. Gift cards pass through at cost with a flat 3% reward processing fee, shown on every invoice. Redeem a physical wishlist item and we'll buy, gift-receipt, and ship it for a flat $10 per order on paid plans; free teams fulfill their own orders at no extra cost.
Questions teams ask before switching
What is Needlist for Teams?
Needlist for Teams is an employee recognition and rewards platform. Teammates give each other points for great work, wins get celebrated in Slack or on the web, and people redeem their points for gift cards or the exact items on their personal wishlist.
What are team bonus points?
Team bonus points are recognition points teammates give each other for good work. Everyone gets a monthly allowance to hand out, so giving stays generous; the points people earn land in a separate balance that never expires and can be redeemed for gift cards or items from their own wishlist. The allowance is billed on a simple recurring charge sized to your active headcount, so spend stays predictable and you only pay for the team you have, no prepaid wallet to top up.
Does Needlist work for company-wide recognition, not just one team?
Yes. Whether it is peer recognition inside one team or corporate recognition across the whole company, everyone shares the same points, #values, and Slack feed. It scales from a handful of people on the Free plan up through large organizations, with SSO, SAML, and HRIS sync included.
Do recognition points have to be spent on gift cards?
No, and that's the whole point. Alongside a gift-card and charity catalog, teammates can redeem points for the exact items on their own wishlist, so a reward feels personal instead of generic. You still get the peer-to-peer points, hashtag values, and Slack recognition teams expect, at one flat price with SSO included.
How do employees redeem their recognition points?
Two ways: a gift-card and charity catalog, or items from their own Needlist wishlist. Earned points never expire, so no one loses what they worked for.
When someone redeems a physical wishlist item, who ships it?
It depends on your plan. On paid plans Needlist handles fulfillment end to end: we buy the item, include a gift receipt (so no price is revealed), ship it to the employee, and track it. On the Free plan your team fulfills it yourselves, self-serve, from a simple Orders page that hands you the item, the shipping address, and a link to buy it. Gift-card and charity redemptions are always automated on every plan.
How much does managed fulfillment cost?
A flat $10 per physical order on paid plans, shown on your invoice. That covers buying, gift-receipting, and shipping the item to the employee. It is a transparent per-order fee, not a custom quote, so there is no sales call to find out the price. Free-tier teams fulfill their own orders and pay nothing extra.
Does Needlist work with Slack?
Yes. Giving recognition is a Slack slash-command and a kudos post to the channel of your choice. Slack is one surface, the same recognition works on the web and mobile apps too, so people who live outside Slack are never left out.
How much does Needlist for Teams cost?
Free for up to 8 seats. Above that it's one plan at $4 per seat per month with every feature included, there's no separate enterprise tier you have to unlock.
Do you charge extra for SSO or SAML?
No. SSO and SAML are included on every plan, including Free. There is no SSO tax.
What makes Needlist different from other recognition software?
It is built on a real wishlist platform. Recognition points redeem against the actual items employees have saved, so a thank-you turns into something they genuinely wanted instead of a gift card that gets forgotten.
